This will be a quick post as I’m in the middle of running around for another whirlwind work trip starting tomorrow.
As part of my running around I needed to pick up some sweaters from Old Navy because I’m headed to colder climates north and then across the pond, and my usual Florida attire of romper/dress/loungewear + sandals wasn’t going to cut it, and I’d just worn my small selection of winter gear when I was there a couple weeks ago. (Long story short – I just wanted to go shopping).
I was feeling snackish so I stopped into Little Greek Fresh Grill (@ The Loop… which will only mean something to people who are from the area so suffice to say, it’s your typical American shopping plaza). I had not been here before, but I’d seen the sign a few times and there were always people sitting out front so figured it wouldn’t be bad.
The food was in fact… GREAT! I had a lamb pita, my shopping partner had chicken & steak souvlaki, and we shared a chicken & lemon soup.
I’m a big fan of Greek food having had a Greek coworker for a few years who made sure I was introduced to it properly, so I can tell you for a chain restaurant (which apparently this is as I found out later), you won’t be disappointed. The soup tasted fresh, homemade and perfectly lemony. It was really nice even with it being 90 degrees outside today. My pita was light and fluffy and perfectly warmed full of crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, really tasty lamb and creamy delicious tzatziki sauce. I spiced it up a little with some red sauce. The souvlaki platter came perched on perfectly cooked & seasoned rice, and a greek salad topped with a small scoop of egg salad with a slice of beets for a real touch. Also delicious.
They do have plenty of seating (both inside and outside) and wifi so if you want somewhere to rest between shopping trips, and you’re sick of Panera or Chipotle, I’d highly recommend.
